There's never a dull moment in warehousing
So, what does a job in warehousing entail? There is no definite
answer to this question. Every role is different, depending on the
sector and size of business you are working for, and that's why a
job in warehousing is so appealing - every day brings a new
challenge. Among others, responsibilities will involve:
- Taking delivery of goods and supplies
- Checking for missing or damaged items
- Moving stock around using hand-operated or electrically
operated pallet trucks
- Picking / packing orders
- Operating hand-held scanners or barcode scanners
- Reading from "pick lists"
- Keeping paperwork up to date
- Keeping your work area clean and safe
Plenty to keep you busy!
