Warehousing? What's Involved?
Interested in warehousing opportunities? Book an appointment
with your local Search Industrial consultant, who will guide you
through a variety of local logistics clients and demonstrate how
you can build your career in this area.
Typically, a role in warehousing will involve you in:
- Taking delivery of goods and supplies
- Checking for missing or damaged items
- Moving stock around using hand-operated or electrically
operated pallet trucks
- Picking / packing orders
- Operating hand-held scanners or barcode scanners
- Reading from "pick lists"
- Keeping paperwork up to date
- Keeping your work area clean and safe
Here at Search, we work with many industry-leading clients
across the warehousing and logistics sector. We have built our
reputation through having a clear understanding of our clients'
needs, which we achieve by working closely with their management
teams to accurately assess the individual needs of each business
area.
Whether it's order pickers, forklift truck operators, dispatch
operators, stock controllers or supervisory staff, our consultants
consider your experience, qualifications and motivations to steer
you towards the right job. Our aim is to supply suitably trained
staff and, as such, we will often offer to train you on the use of
order-picking systems - ranging from paper pick lists, hand-held
scanners and barcode readers - when delivering our client's bespoke
on-site induction.
